About this Service
Self-leveling concrete in Tempe is a poured underlayment used to flatten uneven slabs ahead of coatings or new floor finishes. It is appropriate for apartments, student housing common areas, commercial garages, and small retail floors where rapid turnaround and consistent surface tolerance are needed.
Tempe’s hot summers and seasonal monsoon moisture change cure behavior and ventilation needs during installation. We help arrange pours that include surface profiling, moisture checks—especially in low-lying or river-adjacent slabs—and a written cure schedule. Typical overlay depths run from 1/8 inch to 1/2 inch for thin patches; pumpable mixes can be used up to roughly 1 inch for larger corrections. Estimates will specify overlay thickness, cure time, and any required moisture mitigation.
Limitations: self-leveling overlays require a sound, contamination-free substrate and do not stabilize slabs with active settlement. For installations in occupied student housing, plan for ventilation and shorter cure-window mixes to reduce disruption. Expect 24–72 hours for initial cure, and allow for light sanding or grinding before applying primers or topcoats.
